We have had the opportunity of designing many orbital riveting machines for automotive door latch manufacturers, incorporating Orbitform and Baltec riveters. These machines range from simple fixtures used in prototyping to machines that process several different parts each with multiple rivets at different heights. Checking the presence and quality of the formed rivet has become a more important part of these machines and we have developed several strategies to insure that each formed rivet meets the demands of the customer. As with all the equipment we design, these machines are user friendly and built to survive heavy use.

The fixture shown below preloads a spring and checks for the presence of several features including two tapped holes at the same time that it peens the rivet of a automotive hood latch.
